Log Cabin Insulation with DPC

Enhance the comfort and performance of your cabin with our easy to install floor and roof insulation, designed specifically to improve thermal efficiency without affecting the internal space. The insulation is installed below the floorboards and above the roof boards, meaning it sits within the structure of the building and does not impact internal measurements or usable room size. Supplied with a damp proof course (DPC), it also helps protect your building from rising moisture at the base, supporting long-term durability. By insulating two of the main areas where heat is lost, this upgrade helps create a more stable internal environment, keeping your space warmer in the winter and more comfortable during the summer.

The insulation system uses 25mm thick high-performance PIR insulation boards, designed to slow heat transfer while maintaining the strength and integrity of the building. Manufactured from rigid thermoset polyisocyanurate, these boards offer excellent thermal performance, with a conductivity of 0.022 W/mK. Each board is finished with an aluminium composite foil facing on both sides, helping to further enhance insulation performance and reflect heat back into the cabin.

This upgrade delivers a significant improvement in thermal performance. Our uninsulated floor has a U-value of approximately 2.53 W/m²K, which improves to around 0.74 W/m²K when insulated. Similarly, the roof improves from approximately 3.43 W/m²K down to around 0.67 W/m²K. This reduction in heat loss helps your cabin retain warmth more efficiently, reducing the need for additional heating and making the space more usable throughout the year.

Designed to integrate seamlessly during installation, the insulation fits within the existing structure and requires no ongoing maintenance once installed. NOTE: The insulation will raise the roof by approximately 30-40mm, please check the overall building height before ordering if height restrictions apply.
